This is a good park to stay in while exploring the Cheyenne area. The ranch itself has a lot of things to do including horseback rides, bison tours, and a lot of different kinds of animals to see. There are playgrounds and things that would probably be of interest to children, although we didn’t see any during our mid-week stay in June. There is a restaurant and saloon on site that is open for lunch and dinner. The RV sites overlook rolling grasslands with grazing bison herds. Now the downside: The RV park is basically a grass field with gravel roads and sites. The roads are in pretty good shape but many of the sites are more grass than gravel. This would not normally be a problem in this dry climate, but the Cheyenne area had unusually heavy rains before and during our stay and the some of the sites with diminished gravel turned into mud holes. The park wasn’t that full so it wasn’t a problem to find dry sites, but they really should replenish the gravel. The road from the ranch entrance to the RV park is also in very bad shape, with many deep holes and standing water.

Be aware that road construction and changes to traffic patterns (some of which appear to be permanent) have changed the way you access this park. Directions in campground directories, the park web site, and probably your GPS are wrong. When you exit I-84, continue north on S. Meridian, which will become Main, to Franklin. Turn left on Franklin and take an immediate left on S. Meridian, which is now one-way southbound. Get in the right lane and turn right on Pennwood (John’s Automotive is on the corner). Continue on Pennwood to the park on your right.

Rate is net of Good Sam discount and taxes. As others have said, staff is very friendly and helpful, location is good to the attractions of Lincoln City. We stayed in one of the 7 pull-through sites, which have a view of the ocean. It was long enough for our 38' motorhome with just enough space to park the car sideways in front. Because the front of the site sloped downhill, it took a lot to level the coach. Also, the sewer hookup was at the very back of the site, requiring an extension on our hose. If we should stay here again, we would get a back in site. They appeared to be more level and most have space to park a car alongside.

As others have reported, this is an excellent park. Rate was before GS discount, which is pretty reasonable for a park this nice. We didn't encounter rudeness from the staff as others reported. The lady who took our reservation and the gentleman who checked us in were very courteous. Here are a couple of items which may help future campers: 1) The park doesn't have propane, but if you need it, there is an RV repair shop just to the west of the park entrance. Their propane tank is easily accessible even if you are towing. 2) There is a paved walkway from the park to the Evergreen Aviation Museum. It is an easy walk of less than half a mile. This walkway is not shown on the park map, but it is accessible from behind the trash compactor.

This is a fairly nice park located across US 101 from the Hood Canal. Most sites have a water view and the park has its own private dock and beach where guests can gather clams and oysters (license required). There are no trees among the sites but tall firs surround the park on three sides. Sites are not real wide, but large enough to get awnings out. There is a patch of grass and a concrete patio with a small table and two plastic chairs between the sites. The parking pads are a combination of paved and gravel. The back-in sites seem to be more level than the pull-throughs. The park has a nice clubhouse and a large hot tub spa (shared with adjoining motel). Cable TV has about 60 channels, plus even more in the club house.

Rate is the daily average based on the monthly rate. This is a very nice park. We spent a month here while conducting business in the Olympia area; it is one of the few parks in the area with 50 amp power. Sites are good packed gravel; we were there during some heavy rains and there was no problem with run-off or standing water. Sites are a bit narrow with no patios or picnic tables, but wide enough to get slides and awnings out. The grounds, restrooms, and laundry are all well-maintained. There is a park-like dog run at the edge of the park that must be at least half-an-acre. There is a nice clubhouse for group use. Cable TV consists of a total of 12 channels. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Note: At the exit for this park, on the other (east) side of I-5 is a nice truck wash with reasonable rates. They charged $50 for a 38-foot motorhome.

Very nice park located right in town, but not noisy at all. Very helpful and courteous staff.. We only planned to say overnight but the park and weather were so nice we stayed an extra day and toured Mesa Verde National Park, which is only about 10 miles away. Lots of restaurants within a few miles of the campground, but the only one within easy walking distance is closed and for sale. There is a Colorado visitor center across the street; the helpful staff can provide lots of info on the local area. When leaving the campground, be aware that there is a back gate (open from 8:00 AM to noon) that will let you get back on US-161 at a traffic light; otherwise, it can be difficult to get out from the main park entrance during morning traffic.

I gave a low rating because we did not have an opportunity to stay at this park. We knew that they did not take reservations, but we called about mid-afternoon to see about availability for that night. I was told that they had sites available, but the office closed at 7:00 PM and no one could check-in after that time. Since we could not arrive by 7:00, we had to go elsewhere. This is the first RV park I have ever heard of that did not allow after-hours check-in.

After trying to call Bob's RV Roundup for several days and getting only a busy signal, we drove by it today. The campground is closed and fenced off; it looks like they are tearing out the sites.

Convenient park for overnight or short-term stays. Sites are close together but pull-throughs are easily accessible, even for big rigs. Most of the back-in sites around the perimeter appeared to be occupied by long-term residents. Sites are mostly grass with a small concrete patio area. Bathrooms/showers are small and old. The gentleman who works in the office was very friendly and helpful when making reservations on the phone and when checking in.

I agree with the previous comments that rate this as a very nice park, plus they do now have FREE WI-FI!

This is a nice park convenient to I-84 but far enough away so there is no freeway noise. There are not a lot of amenities, but the park has good access for rigs of all sizes and lots of trees to shade the sites. There is no cable TV but there is good reception of broadcast stations from Portland and Boise. Restrooms/showers were clean, but are very small.

Friendly, helpful staff, nice facilities in a pleasant setting. We would have rated higher except the noise from heavy trucks and other traffic on the interstate was almost unbearable all night long.

We only stayed overnight but it looks like this would be a fun place for families with kids. Pretty, rustic mountain setting. Drawbacks: 1) Access by big rigs, while possible, is pretty tight; 2) If you're in a site near the highway, the noise is very bad most all night long.

Be aware that you will be charged $5 per hour if you check-in before 3:00 PM. We arrived at noon and had to pay an extra $15 in addition to the nightly $47 rate. Big rig access to some of the sites is difficult due the large number of trees at the entrance to sites.

This is a very nice campground conveniently located to the Baseball Hall of Fame and other attractions of Cooperstown. The campground is very spacious, providing easy access for big rigs, large sites, good roads, etc. If there is a downside to the spaciousness, it is that many of the sites are a pretty good walk from the pool, camp store, and other facilities. One quirk is that the hookups are located toward the front of the pull-through sites - - be sure you have long sewer and water hoses. There are not many trees in the central pull-through area, but there are smaller back-in sites in the perimeter wooded area. At the time of our stay, the laundry was closed pending installation of a new septic tank.

This campground is operated by the adjacent Days Inn. You check in at the motel front desk, and have access to the motel pool and Jacuzzi. Grounds were very clean with paved sites separated by gravel and grass. Back-in sites surround the park and appeared to be occupied by long-term guests. Central sites were pull-throughs in an unusual configuration. Sites have side-by-side hookups. Each site is divided into A and B sections and could actually accommodate two rigs front-to-back. I don’t know how often they use both sections of sites, but would think it rather crowded if they did. While we were there the pull-throughs were only about one-third full so this was no problem. Even though there was a rig in the site alongside us, it was actually behind our rig. Cable TV is available but there are less than a dozen channels, and no major network stations are available. The interstate and a train track are close enough that the noise may bother some people. Adjacent to the campground is a Flying J truck stop and restaurant, plus another full-service restaurant; a couple more restaurants are within walking distance. It is a real stretch to call this a “resort”, since you would not go there as a destination in itself, but if you need a campground convenient to the city of Ellensburg or just an overnight stop along the interstate, this will serve your purpose well enough.
